Frequently asked questions

How do I take a good photo for the color scan?

Face a window in daylight and keep the flash off. Scan without makeup if you can, take off your glasses and keep your whole face inside the oval.

Indoor light can make your coloring look warmer or cooler than it is. Daylight from a window gives the most reliable result.

Why can my result differ between two photos?

The photo shows what is there, so lighting, your camera, makeup, a tan, tinted glasses or dyed hair can shift your season. Two scans of the same face can also give slightly different readings, because the analysis is an estimate and not a measurement.

Treat your result as guidance. With Nuanza Complete you can rescan in daylight and compare the results in your scan history under You.

The app says it could not read my face. What can I do?

Try again facing a window, with your whole face inside the oval and the flash off. Remove anything that covers part of your face, such as sunglasses or a hand.

A photo that cannot be read reliably does not use up your free result. See "What happens if my photo fails?" below.

I reached the daily scan limit. What now?

With Nuanza Complete you can make up to 10 color scans per phone per day. A photo taken after the limit is not scanned. Your earlier results are still in your scan history, and you can scan again the next day. Without Nuanza Complete you have one free result; see "What is free?" below.

The scan fails with a message about verifying the device. Why?

Before a scan, Nuanza checks with Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity that the request comes from the genuine app on a genuine phone. The check can fail on a modified (rooted or jailbroken) phone, in an emulator, or when the app was not installed from the App Store or Google Play. Check your internet connection and try again; if it keeps failing on a regular phone, write to us.

Is my photo stored?

No. With your consent, the photo goes to our server and from there to Google Cloud, where it is analyzed automatically. After that it is not kept: not on our server, not on your phone, and not in your result or your scan history. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data, and what does "Delete everything" remove?

In the app, open You and scroll to Data. "Delete all scans" removes your scans from the phone. You can also delete a single scan from the scan history.

"Delete everything" removes your scans and your favorites from the phone, deletes the anonymous device record on our server and withdraws your consent. It cannot be undone. If the phone is offline at that moment, the app tries once more to delete the server record the next time it starts. The usage data is not affected: it is recorded without an identifier stored on your phone.

Our server holds no photo and no result. A device record that is not used for 12 months is deleted automatically.

Deleting your data does not cancel or refund Nuanza Complete. The purchase stays registered with your Apple or Google account, and you can restore it afterwards.

How do I withdraw my consent to process my photo?

Open You, go to Privacy and choose "Withdraw consent". From then on no photo is sent, and the app asks for your consent again before your next color scan. The results that are already on your phone stay. "Delete everything" also withdraws your consent.

Does Nuanza collect usage data?

Yes, without a stored identifier. The app records which screens are opened and which buttons are used, together with the app version, iOS or Android, the language and the country set on your phone and a session ID: a random value created when the app starts, which is not saved on your phone and is replaced at the next start. Events from different sessions cannot be connected. It records no photo, no color, no season, no result text, no name and no email address.

The data goes to our own server in the European Union and is not shared or sold. We use no third-party analytics service, and the data is not used for advertising or to track you across apps.

It is on by default. You can turn it off at any time: open You, go to Privacy and turn off "Share usage data". After that nothing is recorded. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Which languages does Nuanza support?

English, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The app follows the language of your phone and uses English for any other language.

Which phones does Nuanza work on?

iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later, and Android phones with Android 12 or later. A color scan needs an internet connection. Your saved scans, palettes and favorites can be opened offline.

What is free?

The app is free to download. Without paying you get one color scan result per installation of the app: your season, the four readings (undertone, depth, clarity and contrast), the colors of your skin, eyes, hair and lips, the summary, a selection of your personal shades and your three best-matching palettes. You can also browse all palettes and save favorites.

There are no ads.

What does Nuanza Complete contain?

Nuanza Complete unlocks your full list of personal shades, the shades that bring out your eye color, your best metals, the colors that flatter you less, the tips for your season, the season closest to yours, the fit score and the reasons for all 92 palettes, and new color scans (up to 10 per phone per day).

The app shows the price in your currency before you buy. The price that applies is the one the App Store or Google Play shows before you confirm, VAT included where it applies.

Is Nuanza Complete a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Nuanza Complete screen or the You tab and tap "Restore purchase". Use the same Apple or Google account you bought with. This works after a reinstall and on a new phone. A purchase made on an iPhone cannot be restored on an Android phone, and the other way round.

How do I get a refund?

Apple and Google handle the payment, so they handle refunds. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in and choose "Request a refund". Apple decides; we cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves.

On Android, request a refund from Google Play within 48 hours of the purchase. After that, write to hello@easystreet.be with the order number on your Google Play receipt.

If something you paid for does not work, write to us and we will help.

What happens if my photo fails?

If a photo is not good enough for a reliable reading, it does not use up your free result. This applies to low light, a strong color cast, a face that is partly hidden, a suspected filter, or when no face is found. The app tells you what to change, and you can try again.

An installation of the app gets at most three attempts to reach its free result.

Does Nuanza recommend products or brands?

No. Nuanza recommends shades and finishes, not products. No brand pays to be shown.
